About this role

# Become a part of our caring community
You’ll lead a team of Insurance Product Managers who provide critical quality, validation, testing and delivery support across our regional Medicare Advantage portfolios. Your team serves as a shared service to the regional Product Management teams, creating consistent standards and disciplined execution across the Medicare Advantage product lifecycle.

You’ll translate priorities into clear workplans, allocate resources across competing needs, monitor quality and delivery, and help your team identify and resolve issues before they affect filings, implementation or the member experience. You’ll partner closely with Senior Product Managers and functional teams to ensure product decisions are accurately reflected across CMS filings, member materials, systems and operational processes.

This is a hands-on people leadership role for someone who can create structure, develop talent, improve processes and build a culture of quality and accountability. Your team’s work helps turn product strategy into accurate, compliant and operationally ready products.

Lead and Develop the Team

- Lead, coach and develop a team of Insurance Product Managers, establishing clear performance expectations, development goals and accountability for results

- Translate portfolio and enterprise priorities into clear team objectives, work assignments and delivery expectations.

- Prioritize and allocate resources across bid development, CMS filings, AEP readiness, implementation, validation and other regulatory deliverables

- Monitor workloads and rebalance assignments as business priorities, deadlines and portfolio needs change

- Provide regular coaching and actionable feedback that strengthens associates’ product knowledge, judgment, quality orientation and ability to work independently

- Foster a collaborative, accountable environment where associates understand how their work connects to regional portfolio and member outcomes

Deliver Consistent Shared-Service Support

- Lead a shared-service model that provides consistent product quality, validation, testing and delivery support across regional Medicare Advantage portfolio teams

- Establish clear workflows, service expectations and handoffs between the shared-services team and Senior Product Managers

- Coordinate team capacity and priorities across multiple regional portfolio needs, balancing planned work with emerging regulatory, implementation and business issues

- Partner with Senior Product Managers to translate product direction and decisions into accurate downstream deliverables and implementation requirements

- Identify recurring needs across portfolios and create standardized approaches, tools and practices where they improve efficiency, consistency or quality

- Provide visibility into shared-service capacity, priorities, delivery status and risks so portfolio teams can plan effectively

Manage Quality, Validation and Product Delivery

- Oversee team delivery across the Medicare Advantage product lifecycle, including validation, testing, filing support, implementation and readiness activities

- Establish and reinforce team-level quality standards for ANOCs, EOCs, SBs, Aprimo, Provider Directories, PBP, HPMS and other applicable product and regulatory deliverables

- Oversee validation and testing activities across applicable product tools and processes, including bid management tools, PBP, NPD, service area and claims implementation reviews

- Ensure appropriate reviews and validations are completed accurately and on time, with issues documented, assigned and tracked through resolution

- Monitor defects, rework and recurring quality issues and use findings to improve team processes and controls

- Escalate significant product, compliance or delivery risks to Product leadership and appropriate partners when resolution extends beyond the team’s authority

Drive Compliance, Controls and Readiness

- Maintain team workflows and controls that support timely and accurate completion of Medicare Advantage regulatory and product requirements

- Drive audit readiness by ensuring required documentation, validations, controls and corrective actions are complete, accurate and current

- Track deliverables against CMS, regulatory and business milestones, identify risks early and develop mitigation plans within the team’s scope

- Partner with Compliance and other functional teams to address findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented

- Reinforce disciplined documentation, version control and evidence retention across team processes

Improve Team Operations

- Use performance, quality and workflow data to identify opportunities to improve accuracy, cycle time, capacity and productivity

- Lead changes that improve team processes, tools and ways of working

- Identify opportunities to standardize or automate repeatable work while maintaining appropriate quality and regulatory controls

- Conduct root-cause analysis on recurring defects or process breakdowns and implement sustainable corrective actions

- Establish practical metrics and operating routines that give the team and leadership visibility into workload, quality, risks and delivery performance

- Share lessons learned and effective practices across the team and regional portfolio partners

What Success Looks Like

- Lead the team well. Set clear expectations, provide regular and useful feedback, address performance issues and create meaningful development opportunities.

- Deliver with quality. Maintain strong standards for product accuracy, validation and regulatory deliverables while minimizing defects and avoidable rework.

- Be a reliable shared-service partner. Provide regional Product Management teams with consistent, responsive support and clear visibility into priorities, capacity and delivery.

- Prioritize effectively. Balance competing portfolio needs, regulatory deadlines and available resources and adjust quickly when priorities change.

- Manage risk proactively. Identify issues early, assess downstream impacts, implement mitigation within the team’s authority and escalate appropriately when broader decisions are required.

- Use sound judgment. Make thoughtful resource, workflow and tactical operating decisions, particularly during periods of compressed timelines.

- Improve how the team works. Use data, quality results and root-cause analysis to simplify work, strengthen controls and improve performance over time.

- Communicate clearly. Provide concise, timely updates on delivery, capacity, risks and issues to Product leaders and cross-functional partners.

- Lead through change. Create clarity and maintain team engagement and execution when priorities, requirements or business conditions shift.

How You’ll Lead

How you achieve results matters as much as what you deliver. You’ll model the Humana Way through transparent decisions, curiosity and continuous learning, clear expectations and accountability, and strong partnership across organizational boundaries. You’ll help associates understand not only what needs to be accomplished, but why it matters, while creating an environment where people can grow, contribute and do their best work.

Role Expectations

- Lead primarily through the work of your team while remaining close enough to the work to provide effective direction, coaching and quality oversight.

- Make resource, workflow, prioritization and tactical operating decisions within the team’s area of responsibility.

- Apply strong product and operational knowledge to moderately complex issues and determine when broader leadership involvement is needed.

- Coordinate effectively with regional portfolio teams and functional partners across multiple departments.

- Balance immediate regulatory and delivery demands with continuous improvement of team processes.

- Use metrics and operational insights to monitor performance and make informed decisions.

- Create clarity and structure for the team during periods of ambiguity or rapidly changing priorities.

Key Partnerships & Reporting Relationship

You’ll report to the Associate Director or Director, Insurance Product Management and lead a team of Insurance Product Managers. You’ll serve as a shared-service partner to Senior Product Managers and regional portfolio teams and work closely with Compliance, Operations, Marketing, Claims and other functional partners.

The work follows the annual Medicare Advantage and CMS regulatory cycle. Certain periods of the year require additional flexibility, including extended hours and occasional weekend work, to meet critical regulatory and business deadlines.
