About this role
The Spread Products Banker is an experienced level position responsible for providing innovative capital solutions to a broad range of Citi’s institutional clients ranging from corporates, asset managers, institutional investors, governments and non-profits across the credit, municipal and securitized markets. The overall objective of this role is to successfully manage client relationships and to help developing strategic and tactical capital plans for Citi’s institutional clients.
Responsibilities:
- Set the strategic direction for respective product, focusing on enhancing market presence and positioning within specialized securitization sectors (e.g., origination and structuring of complex debt, equity, and capital restructurings)
- Oversee high-value negotiations involving large-scale securitization transactions.
- Lead the origination and structuring of complex debt, equity, and capital restructurings.
- Ensure seamless execution of complex securitization and structured finance transactions, from initiation to completion, ensuring the financial solutions are tailored to the clients’ needs, ensuring compliance with evolving regulations.
- Meet revenue and other financial goals by establishing and maintaining a pipeline of episodic deals.
- Ensure proposed client solutions meet or exceed internal risk and return standards, including stringent ethical standards.
- Serve as the expert on regulatory, financial and complex strategic issues relating to corporate finance transactions.
- Manage critical client relationships including global internal and external relationships acting as the key point of contact in sectors asset-backed securities or structured finance.
- Recognize and encourage cross-sell opportunities that deliver the Citi franchise.
- Lead and mentor within the Spread Products team, execute staffing models that support business needs and career trajectories for the team, at all levels.
- Drive innovation in financing solutions, adapting to changes in market conditions and securitization regulatory and compliance requirements to meet evolving client needs within specialized markets.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and their assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Citi policies, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in people management
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration preferred
- Master's degree in Business Administration preferred
- Experience working in a Financial Services institution(s)
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to remain unbiased in a diverse working environment
- Series 79, 7 and 63 licenses
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master’s degree preferred
