Regional Category Leader

Your Role

Are you passionate about strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and driving commercial results? As a Regional Category Leader at Aptiv , you will play a key role in managing supplier relationships, sourcing activities, and commercial negotiations to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.

You will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing plants, and global category teams to execute sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, support new programs, and drive continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a results-driven purchasing professional with experience in direct materials and contract negotiations who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Manage direct material sourcing activities and negotiate supplier contracts and commercial terms to achieve cost, quality, delivery, and business performance targets.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for new and existing programs in collaboration with suppliers, plants, and global category teams.
- Manage supplier performance through regular business reviews, addressing gaps and driving improvements in quality, service, technology, cost, and delivery.
- Monitor material costs, component pricing, bill of material changes, and commercial conditions, implementing or recommending adjustments as needed.
- Develop and maintain the supplier base to support new programs and ensure negotiated commercial conditions are effectively implemented.
- Prepare sourcing recommendations and report results to regional and global leadership while ensuring compliance with Aptiv purchasing policies and procedures.

Your Background

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, International Business, or a related field.
- 3-6 years of relevant experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, or a related procurement function.
- Experience with direct material purchasing and supplier contract negotiations.
- Advanced English communication skills.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Results-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize multiple activities and work effectively with limited supervision.
- Experience in the automotive, electronics, or similar manufacturing industry is preferred.
