Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Custodian / Maintenance Technician to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facility. This position is responsible for performing general custodial duties as well as routine building maintenance and minor repairs.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong eye for detail, works independently, and can recognize and address maintenance and cleanliness issues before they become larger problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Custodial & Cleaning Duties

- Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and fixtures.

- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors throughout the facility.

- Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.

- Clean common areas, offices, hallways, breakrooms, and other assigned spaces.

- Replenish restroom supplies, including toilet paper, paper towels, and soap.

- Maintain a clean, orderly, and presentable facility at all times.

- Identify and report any cleanliness, safety, or maintenance concerns.

General Maintenance Duties

- Replace air filters in HVAC units according to scheduled maintenance requirements.

- Replace light bulbs, fluorescent tubes, and other basic lighting components.

- Perform minor painting and touch-ups as needed.

- Complete small repairs and general building upkeep.

- Assist with basic plumbing repairs, such as tightening fixtures or addressing minor leaks.

- Perform minor hardware repairs, including door handles, hinges, locks, and other fixtures.

- Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs.

- Assist with preventative maintenance and general building inspections.

- Report larger repairs or equipment issues requiring outside contractors or specialized technicians.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous custodial, janitorial, or general maintenance experience preferred.

- Basic knowledge of building maintenance, cleaning procedures, and maintenance tools.

- Ability to perform minor repairs and general upkeep.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Dependable, punctual, and able to manage daily responsibilities.

- Good communication and problem-solving skills.

- Takes initiative and demonstrates pride in maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders as needed.

- Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and maintenance tasks.

- Ability to work indoors and outdoors when necessary.

- Ability to safely operate basic maintenance and cleaning equipment.

- Ability to perform physical duties throughout the workday.
