About this role
MTSI is seeking a Digital Engineering Training Specialist. As a Digital Engineering Training Specialist you will work on the Workforce Development team, under Technical Training. Your tasking will consist of all aspects of Digital Engineering course development and instruction, to include identification of needed training, outlines, resource creation (slides, self-paced tutorials, surveys, videos, and other reference material), team reviews and feedback incorporation. This position requires the applicant to be an articulate, and confident presenter to provide instruction and overviews, to include multiple venues (Live Webinar, On-Site, and Recordings).
In this role, you will use your experience as an engineering professional to convey informative and accurate Digital Engineering course content, respond to Q&A from students and be prepared to provide insightful anecdotes during class. The applicant should have a wide variety of experience with Digital Engineering tools and processes and be familiar with industry standards and emerging technologies and trends. This position will require interfacing with students and project leads, which could be internal or external. This position may require some travel to external customer sites.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Support development of new MBSE technical courses on a variety of topics. Course focus could include the following:
- SysML V2 (Fundamentals, Practitioners, Methodology)
- Advanced DE Tools (Ex: IDE Capabilities, Semantics Data Broker, MSA tools)
- Digital Twin/Digital Thread
- Other DE Technical Courses
- Provide instruction for Live Webinar/Live In person
- MBSE Concepts, Tools, & Methodologies
- MBSE Concepts
- Bigger Picture Concepts (Foundations for Enabling Digital Transformation, particularly the IDE and DE Sections)
- All SysML V1 and SysML V2 Courses
- Other DE Technical Courses
- Provide summaries, and overviews for upcoming Digital Engineering classes on the calendar
- Develop Digital Engineering resources for classes (additional self-paced tutorials, online references, other resources)
- Develop modified Digital Engineering classes for use on Docebo (external facing site)
- Provide demos of Digital Engineering capabilities and processes during class
- Identify high value Digital Engineering training opportunities for development
- Identify recommended industry training in Digital Engineering
- Oversee Digital Engineering course reviews and updates
- Facilitate technical classes when needed (provide oversight & support for other instructors)
- Provide Technical Career coaching related to Proficiency Paths
- Development of Proficiency Path Digital Engineering Objective Testing (test creation, buildout)
Required Experience/Education :
- At least 5 years of recent experience working in the Systems Engineering Field
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, with a focus on Systems & Digital Engineering
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Effective public speaker, able to present and explain technical information to a group
- Experience with systems modeling in SysML, and awareness of the SysML v2 modeling language specification
- Experience with SysML modeling tools, and awareness of SysML v2 tool availability, and capabilities
Preferred Experience
- Experience teaching or developing curriculum
- Experience presenting at public forums
- Certifications in one or more of the industry recognized fields for Digital Engineering (SEP, OCSMP)
- Modeling with SysML v2 language and tools
Location
- This position is fully remote
- This position may require some travel (up to 10%)
Clearance · Applicants must be US Citizens and should be able to receive a Secret Clearance
The pay range for this position is $130,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
