Position Summary
The Frozen Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation, presentation, and profitability of the Frozen Department. This position leads department associates, maintains inventory levels, ensures product quality and food safety compliance, and delivers an outstanding shopping experience through excellent merchandising and customer service. The Frozen Supervisor works closely with store leadership to achieve sales, labor, and shrink goals while maintaining company standards.
Key Responsibilities Department Operations
- Oversee daily Frozen Department operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain proper inventory levels through ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotation of merchandise.
- Ensure all frozen products are stored and displayed according to company and food safety standards.
- Monitor department conditions and take corrective action to maintain cleanliness and organization.
- Execute company merchandising plans, promotional displays, and seasonal programs.
Customer Service
- Provide exceptional customer service and create a welcoming shopping environment.
- Assist customers with product inquiries, special orders, and resolving concerns.
- Promote customer loyalty through positive interactions and product knowledge.
Merchandising & Inventory Control
- Maintain attractive, well-stocked, and properly signed displays.
- Ensure accurate pricing and promotional execution.
- Monitor product movement and adjust orders to maximize sales while minimizing shrink.
- Perform inventory counts and assist with department financial controls.
Leadership & Team Development
- Supervise, train, coach, and develop department associates.
- Assign duties and monitor performance to ensure expectations are met.
- Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.
- Support hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities as directed by store leadership.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements.
- Maintain proper product temperatures and equipment standards.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous grocery retail or frozen department experience preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and computer skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
