Amazon Web Services came to China in 2013, and has been relentlessly investing and expanding our infrastructure and business since then. Amazon Web Services launched its China (Beijing) Region (operated by Sinnet) in September 2016 and its China (Ningxia) Region (operated by NWCD) in December 2017. In 2019, Amazon Web Services added a new region in Hong Kong, making China the only country with three Amazon Web Services regions aside from the U.S. In 2022, Amazon Web Services launched Local Zone in Taipei. Amazon Web Services has also established an AI lab in Shanghai and two IoT labs in Shenzhen and Taipei. The Amazon Web Services Partner Network has thousands of Partners in China. Amazon Web Services has supported over 10,000 local startups and has provided cloud skills training to over 700,000 talents. Amazon’s first two utility-scale renewable projects—a solar farm and a wind farm—are also generating clean energy to the country’s grid.

Our vision is to be the most trusted technology partner for the world's automotive companies as they go through the biggest transformation in their history. Three industry forces make this moment urgent. First, the rapid shift to software-defined vehicles (SDV), autonomous driving and connected mobility is changing how vehicles are designed, built, sold and operated. Second, generative AI and agentic AI are opening up a new generation of intelligent R&D, smart factories and predictive supply chains. Third, automakers are under intense pressure to cut costs, localize production and build resilience against geopolitical and tariff disruption.
You will be a trusted advisor to automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. You will help line-of-business (LoB) leaders, such as VPs of R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Digital, and reimagine their vehicle development, production systems and industrial data strategies with AWS. This is not an IT infrastructure role. You will work where cloud and AI meet automotive domain expertise.
The ideal candidate has a business development or consulting background in the automotive industry and a proven track record of engaging at the CxO/VP level. You should have a solid understanding of cloud and applied AI/GenAI, plus enough technical depth to work easily with technical architects. This role requires a strong passion for customers, comfort with ambiguity and a keen sense of ownership to deliver results.
You will own and drive the LoB pipeline across a portfolio of strategic automotive accounts. That work runs from finding and qualifying opportunities, through building the business case, to moving deals toward close. You will turn automotive business pain points into solutions built on AWS services and ISV/partner offerings. You will build relationships with LoB buyers, not just IT procurement, and work across sales, service and partner teams. You will also represent AWS at selected industry events and contribute to thought leadership content.

Key job responsibilities
• Define and execute a strategic go-to-market (GTM) plan for automotive that aligns with AWS strategic direction and revenue targets. The plan covers market segmentation and sizing, industry solution priorities (SDV, ADAS/AD, connected vehicle, smart manufacturing, supply chain) and competitive positioning.
• Identify, develop and realize business opportunities that create customer value and drive AWS AI/cloud revenue. Build a repeatable pipeline and speed up existing deals. Support account teams in structuring strategic agreements (for example, PPAs) and in complex contract negotiations, working with Legal and Compliance.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to automotive executives at CxO and VP+ level, building long-term trusted relationships. Identify and engage key partners, including ISVs and system integrators, and build scalable joint solutions and co-sell motions.
• Act as the expert on AWS capabilities for automotive use cases. Understand customers' technical requirements and pass customer signals and industry trends to AWS Product, Engineering and Service teams to influence roadmaps.
• Find whitespace opportunities where AWS can lead innovation in the automotive ecosystem. Work with Sales on qualified opportunities, with a clear view of each customer's business drivers, stakeholders and urgency.
• Create scalable mechanisms, engagement playbooks and industry solution frameworks so field teams can engage automotive customers consistently. Present business reviews to senior management on progress and roadblocks and keep pipeline data accurate in Salesforce and other internal systems. Handle a high volume of engagements in the fast-paced cloud computing market.
