About this role
Description
Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.
We are seeking a versatile, high-judgment Program Manager to serve as the operating and strategic backbone of the Amazon Leo consumer organization. This role sits at the center of how the org innovates, aligns, and stays healthy as it scales before and after GA. You will own three complementary bodies of work: the org’s operating rhythm, its most important global strategic initiatives, and its organizational-health mechanisms — translating leadership priorities into predictable, decision-driving processes while quarterbacking the long-term product and feature launches that move the business.
This is a horizontal, cross-functional role for a true utility player — someone energized by wearing many hats and driving business impact in many evolving ways, while holding a high, scalable bar across everything they own. You will make independent decisions and drive your work forward with autonomy, while actively coordinating with partners across Product, Finance, and the broader consumer team to ensure alignment and shared success. Success requires strong organizational influence, sound portfolio judgment, and the discipline to convert performance data into leadership-level decisions and accountability.
Key job responsibilities
Own the org’s operating rhythm end to end — as the single accountable owner of the Rhythm of Business (RoB) governance function, inventory, audit, and continuously refine the portfolio of cadenced meetings, enforcing a rigorous intake standard (decision rights, cost/ROI, duplication, meeting health) and making hard portfolio calls (consolidate, delegate, move async, or eliminate) so every mechanism maps to a real decision-maker.
Run the Quarterly Business Reviews — own the calendar, template, rubric, pre-reads, and facilitation with senior leadership to drive documented decisions and action items.
Own the goal-setting and tracking lifecycle — facilitate annual goal-setting that cascades from OP1/OP2 outcomes, maintain the centralized goal repository, and drive mid-year and year-end review cadences while surfacing cross-team conflicts and gaps.
Quarterback the org’s global strategic initiatives — take long-term product and feature launches from ideation through development to launch, shaping the roadmap, aligning stakeholders across teams and regions, and driving execution against milestones so big bets land on time and with impact.
Own organizational health — run the Team Health program (survey design, analysis, and leadership action plans, including the Leadership Commitments mechanism), and own the engagement and communications mechanisms (Townhalls, Recognitions, and the monthly Know Your Customer series), including the shared repository of decks, recordings, and materials.
Communicate effectively with senior management audiences — narratives, pre-reads, and inputs into weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews.
Drive best practices in operational excellence and mechanism design, continuously improving each program so it stays decision-oriented and scalable.
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
You will spend part of your day running the org’s operating rhythm — auditing the meeting portfolio, preparing a business review, or shepherding a planning cycle toward leadership lock. Another part of your day will be spent quarterbacking a global strategic initiative, aligning stakeholders and driving a product or feature launch against its milestones. You will also tend to the org’s health — analyzing Team Health results, preparing a Townhall, or shaping a leadership action plan. Throughout, you will operate with autonomy and a high, scalable bar, partnering across Product, Finance, and the broader consumer team to keep the organization aligned, innovating, and healthy.
