About this role
- As Procurement Officer, you will support procurement activities, including assisting with the planning of LCGPA (Local Content and Government Procurement Authority) annual procurement requirements, preparing detailed specifications for required products and services, coordinating tendering activities with potential suppliers, supporting bid evaluations, and assisting with price negotiations to ensure cost-effective and compliant procurement processes.
Requirements
- Support the implementation and improvement of established procurement procedures to achieve departmental procurement goals.
- Review purchase requisitions to ensure all required information and documentation are complete and comply with procurement procedures.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with the established authority matrix and coordinate approvals with the relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in prequalifying bidders, preparing tender documents, and conducting tender evaluations to ensure bids meet organizational requirements and comply with government policies, procedures, and processes.
- Coordinate with internal departments to identify the availability, needs, and requirements of current and future equipment, services, and materials.
- Review and evaluate received quotations based on price, compliance with specifications, delivery timelines, test results, supplier experience, and other relevant factors.
- Support the purchasing process, including preparing and issuing purchase requisitions and purchase orders, while ensuring all required documentation and procedures are completed.
- Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotations, clarify requirements, follow up on deliveries, and support price negotiations.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation to ensure proper tracking and reporting of procurement activities.
