About this role

As a part of the Plastics team, you will be tasked with assessing the current manufacturing capabilities of Tesla plastics processes, developing a manufacturing and capacity strategy for plastic components for current and future product programs, determining the most effective methods to manufacture plastic components, and implementing equipment capacity and capability upgrades.

• Manage injection mold tooling projects.

• Lead the DFM process and work closely with product design to ensure that critical changes are implemented.

• Lead the suppliers (toolmaker) in design, layout, and construction of new plastic tooling.

• Responsible for the tooling design, technical commissioning process and tool development.

• Providing technical tooling solutions in case of feasibility and quality issues.

• Providing technical support for the production, tool shop.

• Attend to the supplier bases trials.

• Maintain the spare part inventory.

• Providing information and reports of all tasks to its immediate superior.

• Several years of experience in the tool construction and injection molding industry.

• Experience in Exterior Products is a plus.

• Detailed understanding of plastics molding related process variables and their impact on production and quality.

• Well-rounded in Plastic Tooling, Plastic Processing, and Manufacturing Engineering.

• Knowledge of various plastic materials and tool steels used for mold construction.

• Communicative and engaging personality.

• Think and act entrepreneurially, work independently and are a convinced team player.

• Fluent in German or English language.

• Confident handling of MS-Office and CAD systems -CATIA, 3D viewer, CAE (Moldflow)-

• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.
