Facilities Commissioning Lead I&C Technician

The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Technician is a critical technical role responsible for ensuring reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and optimization of facility control systems and instrumentation. This position supports operational continuity by maintaining the sensors, controllers, communication networks, and automation systems that monitor and control mission-critical mechanical, electrical, process, and building systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, critical thinking, and collaboration with construction commissioning and Facility teams. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliable operation of control systems and instrumentation, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of the facility.

- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot, and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on instrumentation and control equipment including but not limited to: pressure, temperature, flow, humidity, and level devices

- Diagnose and repair control system issues involving PLCs, DDC systems, VFDs, actuators, sensors, and network communications

- Support Building Automation Systems (BAS), SCADA systems, and industrial control networks

- Verify proper operation of communication protocols including Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, and other industrial networks

- Support startup, commissioning, and functional testing of new and modified systems including root cause investigations and corrective actions related to equipment and process failures and coordinate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and commissioning teams to implement upgrades and changes

- Analyze control sequences and optimize system performance to improve reliability and energy efficiency

- Maintain accurate documentation including loop drawings, control schematics, calibration records, and system configurations

- Ability to understand design drawings: plans, C&E Matrix, Control Narratives, Wiring Diagrams, SLD’s, PFD’s and P&ID’s Proficient in the installation, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation and control systems

- Strong understanding of PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and other automation technologies including Siemens S7 / TIA Portal, V18; additional experience with Ignition and Allen Bradley PLCs is preferred

- Strong skills in calibration and troubleshooting Instrumentation, PLC, DDC, motor controls, VFD’s, drives, and electronic components and proficient in using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment

- Strong understanding of HVAC, mechanical system controls, Network communications and fieldbus protocols, automated system sequences and programming fundamentals

- Ability to work at high elevations (up to 60ft) and lift at least 50 lbs. regularly, perform repetitive hand and wrist motions, and twist and bend the body

Expected Compensation $96,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
