About this role

Job Summary:

The Corporate Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting corporate-level reporting for an Oil & Gas organization. This role will be responsible for monthly close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific accounting standards such as successful efforts (SE) or full cost (FC) accounting. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of Oil & Gas accounting practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare and post monthly journal entries for corporate entities.

- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and internal reporting packages.

- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.

- Assist with consolidation of multiple subsidiaries or business units.

- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and resolve variances.

- Prepare entries related to asset retirement obligations (ARO), depletion, depreciation, and amortization (DD&A).

- Assist with revenue, joint interest billing (JIB), and production accounting data as needed.

- Prepare audit schedules and support external auditors during annual audits.

- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with accurate accounting data.

- Prepare audit schedules and assist with external financial audits.

- Ensure compliance with SOX/internal controls and company policies.

- Participate in process improvements to streamline accounting workflows.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- 2+ years of accounting experience; Oil & Gas experience preferred.

- Strong understanding of GAAP.

- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software

- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

- CPA or progress toward CPA.

- Experience with SEC reporting or public-company environments.

- Prior work with upstream or midstream operational accounting.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

- Professional communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

- High level of integrity and commitment to quality.
