Position Summary

MIRACORP is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant . This position provides financial management and resource support related to budget execution, financial reporting, staffing analysis, portfolio management, and operational resource planning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Support budget execution, monitoring, reconciliation, and forecasting.

- Track obligations, expenditures, commitments, available balances, and funding utilization.

- Analyze financial data, trends, variances, risks, and potential funding shortfalls.

- Prepare financial reports, forecasts, dashboards, and leadership briefings.

- Conduct staffing, personnel cost, vacancy, and funding analyses.

- Develop spending plans, resource projections, and allocation recommendations.

- Support portfolio managers with financial planning and performance tracking.

- Maintain financial models, trackers, schedules, and audit-ready documentation.

- Research and resolve financial discrepancies.

- Support fiscal year-end activities, audits, and internal reviews.

- Coordinate with accounting, budget, acquisition, human resources, and program stakeholders.

- Recommend improvements to financial controls, reporting, and operational processes.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

- US Citizen

- Bachelors degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.

- 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, or resource management.

- Experience with budget execution, forecasting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and staffing analysis.

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

- Ability to obtain and maintain any required federal suitability determination or security clearance

Preferred Requirements

- Federal government or government contracting experience.

- Knowledge of federal budgeting, appropriations, accounting, and financial management processes.

- Experience with federal financial systems, portfolio management, audits, or internal controls.

- CPA, CGFM, CMA, or a comparable professional certification.
