About this role

Do you enjoy working hands-on, diagnosing faults, and solving technical challenges? We're looking for a Workshop Technician with an electrical background to support the testing, commissioning, maintenance, and mobilisation of a wide range of Ashtead Technology equipment.

What you’ll be doing:

- Testing and spool all electrical and hydraulic winches.

- Testing and setting up diesel and electrical power packs.

- Leading and completing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), including as client demonstrations.

- Conducting pre and post mobilisation inspections.

- Carrying out maintenance, servicing, repairs, and equipment refurbishment.

- Assisting with mechanical maintenance and servicing as required.

- Ensuring equipment certification, calibration, and compliance requirements are maintained.

- Completing inspection reports, FAT documentation, and maintenance records.

- Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment.

What experience you'll bring:

- Electrical qualification.

- Previous electrical experience in a workshop, or technician role.

- Previous experience working with winches and hydraulic power units.

- Knowledge of hydraulic and mechanical systems beneficial.

- Strong practical skills with tools, machinery, and fault finding.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- A proactive approach and the ability to meet deadlines.

- Good communication and basic IT skills

- Experience with wire rope spooling, winches, hydraulic power units, and hydraulic systems is beneficial.
