Adjunct Instructor of Natural Sciences

About the Role:
Blackburn College invites applications for its ongoing Adjunct Instructor of Natural Sciences applicant pool. We are seeking knowledgeable and engaging instructors who are passionate about teaching and supporting student success.
Opportunities may be available in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physical Education, and Sports Management. Applications will be reviewed as instructional needs arise, and qualified candidates may be contacted when an appropriate teaching opportunity becomes available.
Responsibilities:
•  Deliver engaging, high-quality instruction in assigned undergraduate courses 
•  Prepare course syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, and instructional materials aligned with course learning objectives 
•  Facilitate classroom discussions, critical thinking, and active student engagement 
•  Assess student learning through assignments, exams, projects, and other appropriate methods 
•  Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student academic growth 
•  Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and required course records 
•  Communicate effectively with students and provide appropriate academic support 
•  Collaborate with department faculty and College personnel as needed 
•  Follow College policies, academic standards, and established course requirements

Requirements:
•  Master’s degree or higher in the applicable discipline or a closely related field preferred 
•  Previous college-level teaching experience preferred 
•  Strong knowledge and demonstrated expertise in the applicable subject area 
•  Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills 
•  Ability to engage and support students with a variety of backgrounds and learning needs 
•  Commitment to student success and academic excellence 
•  Ability to effectively utilize learning management systems and other instructional technology
