Part-Time Bus Driver

Blackburn College invites applications for Part-Time Bus Drivers to join our ongoing applicant pool. This posting will remain open to identify qualified drivers who may be contacted as transportation needs arise throughout the year.
Position Summary
Part-Time Bus Drivers are responsible for safely transporting Blackburn College students, faculty, and staff to College-related events and activities. Travel may include athletic events, student organization activities, academic programs, and other College-sponsored travel. Trips may occur during the daytime, evenings, and weekends and may occasionally require overnight or out-of-state travel.
Drivers may operate College motor coaches with capacities of approximately 25 to 46 passengers and must hold the appropriate licensing and endorsements required to operate College vehicles.
Compensation
This is a part-time, nonexempt position paying $23.00 per hour. Drivers are eligible for overtime compensation for hours worked over 40 in a workweek in accordance with applicable federal and state law.
 Compensable work time may include driving, required pre- and post-trip duties, inspections, fueling, cleaning, required trip documentation, required rest breaks during extended trips, and certain waiting periods associated with College travel.

Essential Responsibilities
•  Safely transport students, faculty, and staff to approved College events and activities. 
•  Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and other vehicle-related duties. 
•  Follow all applicable traffic laws, safety requirements, and College transportation procedures. 
•  Maintain required trip and driving documentation. 
•  Maintain communication with the College department or group coordinating the trip. 
•  Be available for varying schedules, including daytime, evening, weekend, overnight, and occasional out-of-state travel.

Qualifications
Applicants must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate passenger endorsement and meet all requirements to operate Blackburn College motor coaches.

Candidates should also demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, reliability, professionalism, and providing courteous service to students, employees, and other members of the Blackburn community.
