IT Systems Engineer - Internal Platforms & SRE

Core Responsibilities:

The essential day-to-day duties and ongoing tasks that define this role. These are the non-negotiable activities this hire will be accountable for performing consistently.

- Design, write, and deliver software and services to improve the availability, scalability, reliability, and efficiency of Lambda’s internal IT systems and platforms.
- Solve problems relating to mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence with the goal of automating response to all non-exceptional events.
- Work with Lambda internal teams to influence existing architecture and create new designs, standards, and methods for implementing corporate services and platforms
- Engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, performance analysis, and system tuning.
- Be an excellent communicator, producing documentation and related artifacts for the systems you are responsible for.
- Work as a mentor for other teams; help contribute to and build an excellent technical and professional culture.

- Measurably increase the reliability and performance of our internal tools and platforms
- Help develop automated response to incidents, outages, and cross-functional problems
- Steward an “SRE” approach to system design and architecture within Information Systems
- Help Lambda identify potential performance and reliability issues before they happen

- Deliver an observability system for existing infrastructure and platforms
- Take ownership of internal tooling and platforms; build our the Information Systems SRE practice
- Deliver outstanding documentation and process models
