What you'll do :

Field application

- Operate constant flow sprayers, variable rate applicators, and dry spreaders safely and efficiently

- Apply pre- and post-emergent chemicals, insecticides, lime, and dry and liquid fertilizers to producer fields

- Evaluate product labels to ensure proper application rates and usage

- Maneuver sprayer into proper position on producer's land while avoiding damage to property

- Prevent chemical spills; clean up any spillage immediately and report issues to supervisor

Product loading & coordination

- Prepare sprayer for loading and verify product arrives in good condition

- Collaborate with commercial truck drivers operating tender trucks to receive chemicals or fertilizers in the field

- Activate auto shutoffs, assist connecting transfer hoses, and operate transfer systems to fill sprayer tanks

- Disconnect and secure hoses and tanks upon completion of transfer

Equipment maintenance

- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on sprayers and dry spreaders

- Change oil and filters; replace lights, belts, wiper blades, and grease fittings

- Clean chemical tanks with appropriate cleaning agents after each use

- Keep sprayers clean inside and out to ensure proper mechanical operation and a positive company image

Safety & compliance

- Follow all company safety standards and comply with OSHA, state, and federal regulations

- Maintain CDL license and endorsements and commercial chemical applicator's license

- Attend educational workshops and review technical publications to stay current in the field

What we are looking for :

- Valid operator's license and Commercial Chemical Applicator's license required

- CDL Class A or B with HazMat and Tanker endorsements required (or obtainable within 90 days)

- Ability to operate constant and variable rate sprayers, dry spreaders, anhydrous stations, and nurse tanks

- Strong math skills including proportions, percentages, and volume calculations

- Effective communicator with customers and coworkers
