Job Overview

Job Title: Production Operator - Coater (Robot Operator, Forklift Operator, Hand Packing, Slinging Operator, Vent Activities).

Schedule: Rotating shift schedule between days and nights every two weeks.

Work Environment: Up to 100% indoors with exposure to heat and noise.

Core Responsibilities

Equipment & Robot Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor robot machines and conveyor systems while continuously verifying product quality.

Material Handling (Forklift & Crane): Operate overhead cranes with remote controls and drive forklifts to transport glass sheets (lites), racks, and boxes.

Packing & Securing: Manually pack glass sheets, apply protective packaging (foam, straps, plastic wrap), and ensure all racks are properly stacked and secured with gates and pins.

Vent Activities (Maintenance): Participate in full machine rebuilds every 5 weeks (a 48-hour turnaround), which involves lock-out/tag-out procedures, removing lids with cranes, and replacing parts.

Administration & Housekeeping: Review shift production schedules at computer workstations, conduct daily vehicle inspections, and sweep/clean work areas throughout the shift.

Physical Demands

Movement: Requires continuous standing and walking on concrete and metal surfaces.

Lifting & Pushing: Requires continuous lifting of 1 to 88 lbs and continuous pushing/pulling of 3 to 68 lbs.

Dexterity: Demands continuous physical coordination and frequent gripping (5 to 25 lbs).

Operation: Involves frequent sitting and foot pedal operation while driving forklifts.

Required Safety Gear (PPE)

Protection: Must wear a hard hat, face shield, eye protection, and hearing protection.

Clothing: Requires high-visibility clothing/vests, long pants, and steel toe or safety footwear.

Handling Gear: Requires cut-resistant gear, including sleeves, aprons, and Cut Level 5 glass-packing gloves.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $18.00
