JOB PURPOSE

The Safety Officer is a key member of the Quality & Safety Team, responsible for monitoring driver behavior and compliance using GPS and Driver Management System (DMS) tools. This role ensures that all drivers adhere to company safety standards, work instructions (WI), and regulatory requirements. Any violations or deviations are to be documented and reported to the appropriate departments, HR, and management for corrective action.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

- Driver Monitoring

Continuously monitor driver activities through GPS and DMS tools.

- Track compliance with company safety rules, work instructions, and operational procedures.

- Identify unsafe driving practices or deviations from company standards.

- Violation Reporting

Record all violations or non-compliance incidents in detail.

- Prepare official reports and submit them to relevant departments, HR, and management.

- Ensure timely escalation of serious safety breaches.

- Compliance & Safety Enforcement

Verify adherence to driver hours-of-service regulations and company safety protocols.

- Support the Quality & Safety Team in enforcing company-wide safety initiatives.

- Provide input on corrective and preventive measures to reduce violations.

- Collaboration

Work closely with Site Leaders, Fulfillment Managers, and Dispatch Managers to address driver-related safety concerns.

- Coordinate with HR on disciplinary actions related to driver non-compliance.

- Support training and awareness programs to improve driver safety behavior.

- Continuous Improvement

Analyze driver performance data to identify trends and recurring issues.

- Recommend improvements to monitoring processes and driver management systems.

- Contribute to initiatives that strengthen the company’s safety culture.

QUALIFICATION

- Experience in safety, compliance, or driver monitoring within transportation or logistics.

- Strong knowledge of GPS tracking systems and Driver Management Systems (DMS).

- Familiarity with transportation regulations and company safety standards.

- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and reporting abilities.

- Ability to remain objective and professional when handling violations.
