About this role

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides direct care to residents in the facility, primarily for their activities of daily living, assistance with therapeutic activities programs, restorative programs, documentation as required by the facility.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Attend/complete 12 in-service hours annually which will include in-services on Infection Control, Universal Precautions, Fire and Safety; willingness to learn and be taught by others.

- Give basic patient care: assisting with bathing, mouth care, shampooing and grooming of hair, clean and filing of nails when requested and assisting with person hygiene.

- Responsible for maintaining care and neatness of resident units: making bed, personal clothing, bedside table, and washing

- Pass and set up food trays: assist residents as needed.

- Responsible for weights and vital signs.

- Assist residents to activities to the extent time and conditions warrant.

- Answer pendant calls promptly and courteously- check that pendant is on the resident.

- Shave male residents daily as needed or requested.

- Complete routine rounds and update the nurse on any observations that he/she needs to know about regarding changes in the residents condition.

- Be knowledgeable and practice proper bed positioning, and proper transfer techniques to wheelchair and chair.

- Work closely with team members to foster self-respect and feelings of self-worth in resident.

- Consistently presents a professional appearance by wearing clean uniform, shoes, name tag, no excessive jewelry, and short, clean fingernails.

- Report for work on time, as scheduled.

- Maintain CNA license with the State of TN Nurse Aide Registry every two (2) years.

- Be knowledgeable of Trezevants Mission, vision and values.

- Other duties as assigned/ required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

- Must have 6 months to 1 years experience of Personal Care giving (if not certified).

- CNAs must maintain a State of TN Certified Nursing Assistant License.
