About this role

Overview

Our client is a  global, high-growth conversational AI and customer engagement platform, seeking a visionary, battle-tested Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its global engineering organization. Serving as a direct strategic peer to the Founder & CEO, you will hold ultimate accountability for the technical vision, application infrastructure, and product architecture as the platform scales upmarket. You will lead a distributed global engineering team, turning complex business challenges into concrete technical solutions.

What you will do:

- Own the end-to-end technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap across real-time multi-channel messaging platforms, CRM systems, and AI orchestration engines.

- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Founder & CEO—articulating technical trade-offs, driving critical architectural decisions, and providing constructive pushback on key initiatives.

- Lead, scale, and mentor a distributed, multi-region engineering organization, building autonomous team structures to eliminate key-person dependencies.

- Drive the production AI strategy, deploying dependable LLM and agentic workflows with strict evaluations, guardrails, and accuracy benchmarks rather than mere prototypes.

- Bridge technical priorities with commercial outcomes, aligning engineering roadmaps directly with revenue, customer retention, and go-to-market priorities.

- Implement enterprise-grade reliability engineering, multi-tenancy safeguards, security frameworks, and performance standards to support mid-market and enterprise growth.

What you will need:

- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record as the final technical decision-maker and executive leader.

- Demonstrated history of direct executive partnership with CEOs, with the communication skill and confidence to challenge assumptions and defend sound technical strategies.

- Deep production AI experience, including building, evaluating, and scaling LLM and agentic systems in live enterprise environments.

- Solid technical problem-solving capabilities—remaining hands-on enough to guide complex system design, lead whiteboard architectural sessions, and debug high-level issues.

- Strong product and commercial acumen, with a history of connecting engineering output directly to business KPIs alongside Product and GTM leadership.

- Proven success building, scaling, and retaining distributed engineering teams while instilling rigorous reliability engineering metrics (uptime, security, performance).
