About this role

We’re hiring a Finance Manager to join the Jascots team! This is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, supporting the Managing Director and wider business with accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls and meaningful commercial insight.

What you’ll be doing:

- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of Jascots

- Manage the Accounts Payable mailbox and weekly supplier payment runs

- Process supplier invoices and maintain accurate supplier accounts within Merlin

- Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate and resolve any differences

- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded

- Produce monthly P&L statements and management reports

- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns in line with HMRC requirements

- Produce balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any variances

- Support budgeting, forecasting and wider financial planning activities

- Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management

- Oversee and support Credit Control activities, including aged debt reporting and cash collection performance

- Manage and resolve finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders

- Support the monthly payroll process, including payroll data entry, journal postings and reconciliations

- Liaise with our payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing

- Work with external tax advisers on corporation tax compliance and VAT-related matters

- Coordinate the provision of financial information for external auditors

- Provide financial information and insight to support business decision-making

- Identify and implement improvements to finance processes, controls and reporting

- Build strong working relationships across the business, including with the Sales, Supply Chain and wider Jascots teams

- Support the Managing Director and wider business with financial analysis and commercial insight

- Contribute to wider business projects and initiatives as required

What we’re looking for:

- Experience working within a finance team, ideally with experience across a broad range of finance activities

- Strong understanding of core accounting processes including month-end, reconciliations, VAT and financial reporting

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information and identify meaningful insights

- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records

- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

- Confident communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across different areas of the business

- A proactive approach, with the confidence to identify issues and find solutions

- Commercially minded, with an interest in understanding how finance supports wider business performance

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced and changing business environment

- A finance qualification, or a willingness and desire to work towards one, would be an advantage

- An interest in wine, drinks or the wider hospitality industry would be a bonus
