About this role

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to join our kitchen team as Kitchen Hand / Kitchen Porter. This role is essential in supporting the smooth, efficient running of our kitchen and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation and teamwork.

This is a zero‑hours position, with shifts offered in line with business needs. Weekend availability is particularly important, as these are some of our busiest times.

What you’ll be doing:

- Wash, dry and store dishes, cutlery, pans and kitchen equipment to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly

- Maintain clean, tidy and well‑organised kitchen, wash‑up and back‑of‑house areas

- Clean work surfaces, floors, equipment and storage areas in line with hygiene and safety standards

- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and ingredient prep

- Help with deliveries, including unpacking and storing stock safely and correctly

- Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are stored appropriately

- Empty bins and manage waste following company procedures

- Assist chefs and the wider kitchen team during busy service periods

- Follow cleaning schedules and report any maintenance or hygiene concerns

What we’re looking for:

- A positive, hardworking attitude and willingness to get stuck in

- Ability to work well as part of a busy, supportive team

- Calm, efficient approach during busy service periods

- Willingness to learn, take direction and support the wider kitchen team

- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is helpful but not essential

- Flexibility to work weekends and peak trading periods

- Strong time‑management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks

- Good attention to detail, especially around cleanliness and hygiene

- Right to work in the UK

- Access to transport due to our rural location
