About this role

Why Betstamp?

Sports betting is booming, but most bettors still fly blind. Betstamp changes that. Since 2020, we’ve built the go-to platform for odds comparison, +EV betting discovery, and real-time bet tracking across 200+ sportsbooks, DFS, casino, and sweepstakes sites. Our tools level the playing field so every bettor, rookie to pro, has an edge.

We’re a product-obsessed, data-driven startup where shipping great features beats endless meetings, and where every engineer has a direct line to user impact. If you thrive on ownership and want your code to improve someone’s ROI tomorrow, you’ll fit right in.

What You'll Own

- Ingestion pipelines: Reliability, coverage, and latency across 100+ scraper integrations — including fixes for feed changes, renamed markets, and blocking.

- Data pipeline and databases: Redis Streams, our market processor, Atlas migrations, and ClickHouse schemas.

- Query performance: Optimize PostgreSQL and ClickHouse for markets, fixtures, and line-history workloads.

- Monitoring: Prometheus and Grafana alerting that catches a degraded feed before a customer does.

- AI-enabled development: Use AI to move faster and automate repetitive data engineering work

You'll begin with scrapers and gradually take ownership across the stack. Architecture decisions, production incidents, and irreversible changes will be handled alongside a senior engineer.

The Stack

Go 1.25
· PostgreSQL 18, Atlas, and ClickHouse
· Redis/Dragonfly, Redis Streams, and RabbitMQ
· Kubernetes, Docker, and GitHub Actions

What We're Looking For

- Strong fundamentals in a backend language such as Go, Java, C#, Rust, C++, Kotlin, or server-side TypeScript

- Comfortable working with SQL and investigating query performance

- Some experience with Linux and containers

- Active, thoughtful use of AI coding tools, with the judgment to verify their work

- An interest in how AI can improve engineering workflows and products

- A habit of verifying assumptions and communicating clearly

- Based in Toronto or willing to relocate

Go experience isn't required, but you should be able to become productive in it within a few weeks.

Nice to Have

- Experience scraping websites or reverse-engineering undocumented APIs

- Experience with ClickHouse, Prometheus, or high-throughput streaming systems

- Experience building internal tools with LLM APIs

- An interest in sports, betting, or prediction markets

What’s In It for You

- Competitive salary & raises — share in the upside you build

- Autonomy & influence — real scope early, not tickets

- Gear & learning stipend, plus free rein testing and spending on the AI tools of the future

- World-class betting tools — the same tools professional bettors pay for, free

- Sports-centric culture — team watch parties, office prop pools, and the inside scoop on sharp bets

The Process

- 45-min intro call — meet the team, swap questions

- Lightweight take-home (under 2 hours) — a real problem from this codebase, not a LeetCode exercise

- Systems conversation — a real problem together, no whiteboard algorithms

- Final interview — meet leadership

- Offer → onboarding → shipping to thousands of bettors
