Interim Associate General Counsel

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s client has an immediate need for a temp-to-perm Associate General Counsel Counsel.

Overview: Our client is seeking a temp-to-perm Associate General Counsel.

Responsibilities Include:
Our client is seeking a experienced Associate General Counsel to serve as a key member of the legal team and act as GC’s right hand. This is a highly visible, hands-on role for a business-minded legal generalist who can independently manage a broad range of legal matters, drive projects to completion, and help scale the effectiveness of the legal department.

Draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of commercial agreements, including vendor, technology, services, marketing/influencer, and e-commerce contracts.
Serve as a trusted partner to the General Counsel, independently managing matters and driving projects forward with minimal oversight and ensuring legal team’s workflow is appropriately prioritized and completed.
Manage pre-litigation and litigation matters (including demand letters, investigations, document preservation, early case assessments, settlement discussions), oversight of outside counsel, and manage litigation budget.
Advise on privacy, marketing, and digital commerce matters, including consumer data issues and privacy-related provisions in commercial agreements.
Identify opportunities to bring work in-house, improve efficiency, and reduce reliance on external legal spend.

Qualifications Include:

JD, active license in good standing, and 8+ years of legal experience, including meaningful in-house experience with a lean legal team
Meaningful experience supporting an e-commerce or digitally native consumer products business
Demonstrated experience in commercial contracting and directly advising business partners.
Working knowledge of data privacy issues that arise in an e-commerce setting
Experience managing litigation and oversight of outside counse
Proficient in leveraging AI and legal technology tools to efficiently draft, review, and manage legal work.

Pay Range: $95-105/hour
