The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior   Engineer in our   Material s   Quality   Engineering team   (Supplier Quality)   for   our   regional   Japan   supplier base   and   Japan   manufacturing operations .    In this role ,   the candidate’s   primary responsibility will be to assess and manage supplier risk,   quality   performance,   and improvement to ensure the continuity of   both   Entegris   and   our   customer’s supply chain .    This position will support the   Materials Solutions D ivision and the plant in Geino- cho , Tsu- shi , Mie.   The raw material portfolio to be managed is critical for supporting on wafer consumable products for the most   demanding applications in the semiconductor industry.       The   candidate   must be   able to   work with autonomy and independent judgement to achieve   both   Materials   Quality   Engineering   and Entegris corporate g oals   plus   lead continuous improvement   and   supplier   change   projects   with our critical/strategic suppliers .    The candidate   will also work closely with   Commodity Managers ,   Operations , R&D   and Customer   Q uality for   i nternal and customer issue resolution.   Robust i nterpersonal   skills to develop   strong working   relationships with   both internal customers and our   critical/strategic suppliers   is required   to enable effective supplier management and improvement of supplier performance.   This position will work closely with the global Materials Quality Engineering team to support the business.

In this role you will :

- Support new product development   and the existing supplier base to lead   onsite asse ssment and qualification of materials suppliers, identifying gaps/opportunities, driving gap closure and continuous improvement   actions/ projects.

- Work with a Global team and support local and global issues if   required.

- Understand the supplier’s processes and how the raw material has an impact on Entegris products and   customers’   application.

- Be a subject matter   and technical   expert in   raw   material management and support Entegris   corporate and division’s   goals.

- Drive technical improvements and own technical reviews when required working closely with R&D

- Drive advanced quality planning and process of record documentation with critical/strategic suppliers .

- Own supplier process control system reviews ( SPC   trend revi ews,   metrology/SPC systems reviews).

- Initiat e,   coordinate , drive and own   supplier change notification through the Entegris internal change control system   and supplier communication .

- Proactively assess supplier risk and plan for appropriate risk mitigation

- Train suppliers on key supplier expectations and requirements such as Change Control.

- Anticipate potential supplier quality management problems and opportunities; assesses impacts and risks,   proposes   potential solutions.

- Drive supplier corrective actions and preventative actions to meet Entegris   issue resolution   expectations.

- Contribute to the development and improvement of the Entegris Suppl ier Quality Management System by identifying and proposing   supplier quality management   process   and   technical   improvements to meet our industry and customer requirements.

Qualifications/Traits:

- 4 Year Degree in Chemistry ,   Chemical Engineering ,   Materials Science   or Engineering

- MS and/or PhD preferred.

- Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred. Knowledge of statistical software li ke   Minitab, JMP   strongly   preferred.

- The candidate   should   demonstrate a   deep   technical   understanding   of chemical manufacturing   with experience in organic and inorganic chemistries

- Direct e xperience with supplier quality management

- ASQ Certification or equivalent   preferred   but not required .

- Minimum   5-7   years’ experience   in chemical   or abrasive   manufacturing,   automotive ,   semiconductor   industry   or related   high-tech   industry

- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, total travel up to   10 %

- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work   independently and   have   strong organizational   skills.

- Strong project management and leadership skills

- Ability to collaborate with cross functional   departments.

- Ability to communicate fluently   in   Japanese   and   English

- Location:   Tokyo Office or   Plant in   Geino- cho , Tsu- shi , Mie ,   Japan
