Driver / Operator Class 4

CLASS 4 DRIVER / OPERATOR – TAURANGA

DRIVE IT. OPERATE IT. GET STUCK IN.

We’re looking for an experienced Class 4 Driver / Operator to join our Tauranga Infrastructure team.

This is a hands-on role involving heavy vehicles, hydro excavation and other infrastructure work across Tauranga and the wider Bay of Plenty.

It can be physical and, at times, pretty unpleasant. You may be working with waste, sludge, wastewater and other contaminated materials, including sewage. If you're someone who doesn't mind getting dirty and wants a role where you actually operate equipment rather than just drive, this could be a good fit.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

- Driving and operating Class 4 specialist vehicles
- Hydro excavation using high-pressure water and vacuum systems
- Vacuuming waste, sludge and other materials
- Supporting drainage, sump and infrastructure maintenance
- Setting up and packing down equipment
- Completing vehicle and equipment checks
- Carrying out hands-on work on site
- Working safely around roads, excavation areas, waste and potentially contaminated materials
- Working as part of a crew and independently when required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- A current Class 4 driver's licence
- Experience operating heavy vehicles or specialist equipment
- Hydro excavation, vacuum, drainage, civil or infrastructure experience is an advantage
- Comfortable working with waste, wastewater and dirty or unpleasant materials
- Physically fit and willing to get stuck in
- Reliable, safety-focused and responsible
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and cross-skill across different operations
