Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) team. In this role, you will use your lived experience with mental health, substance use recovery, or co-occurring conditions to support individuals on their recovery journey.
As a trusted peer, you will help participants develop recovery goals, navigate community resources, build self-management skills, and maintain engagement in treatment. Through one-on-one support, group facilitation, advocacy, and mentorship, you will empower individuals to improve their overall health, wellness, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with providers, staff, and community towards improving both physical and mental health for individuals and families.
• Assess, refer, and monitor progress towards achieving goals in the overall health of individuals and families.
• Provide one-on-one peer support, and groups focused on behavior changes to improve quality of life.
• Empower individuals with skills to engage in the management of both physical and mental health.
• Document interactions and interventions as directed.
• Follow all mandated reporter guidelines and always review suspicious concerns with supervisor.
Qualifications
• Certified Peer Specialist and Peer Recovery Specialist
• Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
• Experience in training, education or career development
• Experience in Community Mental Health preferred
