JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Officer is essential to the assurance of the quality of all products . They will inspect, test, and monitor the different stages of the production processes to ensure compliance with established quality criteria.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of the production process to identify defects or deviations from standards.

- Work closely with production teams to address quality issues, provide feedback, and suggest corrective actions.

- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections and testing results.

- Monitor and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate results.

- Participate in the development of training programs for staff to ensure a proper understanding of quality standards and procedures.

- Investigate and analyze customer complaints and quality incidents, and take corrective and preventive actions as necessary.

- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to quality control.

- Provide regular reports and updates to management on quality performance and areas for improvement.

- Ensure health and safety protocols, as well as GMP standards, are adhered to.

- Support continuous improvement initiatives.

- Adhere to standard operating procedures for testing.

- Assist in identifying and recommending solutions to overcome issues arising to meet production requirements and address operational risks.

- Keep up to date on and investigate the latest technologies, analysis, and methods relating to analysis in the food and beverage industry.

- Apply Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques such as RCPS, 5S, SPC, and any new techniques that emerge to drive site performance towards world-class performance in terms of customer service and quality.

- Take a proactive role in troubleshooting activities on-site relating to quality issues.

- Demonstrate flexibility in terms of attitude and work practices.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

- An Associate degree in Chemistry or a relevant discipline.

- Proven experience in quality control, preferably in a similar industry.

- Minimum one (1) year lab testing experience.

- Strong knowledge of quality control standards and methodologies.

- Knowledge of the ISO 9002 QMS Standard, HACCP, and ISO22000 will be an asset.

- Expert knowledge and understanding of quality systems and process improvement techniques.

- Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance.

- Strong IT systems knowledge.

- Experience in delivering results in a team environment.

- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques will be an asset.
