POSITION OVERVIEW

The Massage Therapist provides professional massage therapy and body treatments to Members and their guests in accordance with BIGHORN Spa standards. This role ensures exceptional service, guest safety, and overall satisfaction while supporting Spa operations and maintaining a clean, professional treatment environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

- Perform therapeutic and remedial massage treatments tailored to Member needs.

- Provide body conditioning services such as stretching and relaxation techniques.

- Prepare, blend, and heat oils and other products for treatments.

- Maintain treatment records in accordance with Spa policies.

- Coordinate scheduling with Spa Reception staff.

- Answer Member questions about massage therapy and services.

- Communicate client concerns and operational needs to the Spa Director or Wellness Coordinator.

- Clean, sanitize, and reset treatment rooms, linens, and tools after each service.

- Assist with maintaining treatment inventory and spa cleanliness.

- Leadership – Maintain a positive, upbeat role, promote Company values, and represent departmental objectives.

- Teamwork – Collaborate with colleagues to provide seamless guest experiences.

- Safety – Follow safe work practices and attend all required safety training.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

- Current State of California Massage Therapy License required.

- Certifications in specialized massage modalities preferred (e.g., hot stone, reflexology, body wraps).

Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities

- Expertise in multiple modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, hot stone, acupressure, reflexology, scrubs, and wraps.

- Ability to assess clients soft tissue condition, joint function, muscle strength, and range of motion.

- Ability to develop individualized treatment plans.

- Strong communication and customer service skills.

- Knowledge of and ability to perform the role in emergency situations.

Required Technical / Other Skills and Abilities

- California State Massage Therapy License.

- CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
