As we continue to grow, were looking for a dynamic and strategic HR Generalist (Payroll & Benefits) who is responsible for owning the semi-monthly payroll process while supporting core human resources functions. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures assisting with employee benefits and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience, operates with a high level of independence, and serves as a trusted resource for employees and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Ownership

- Own and execute the semi-monthly payroll process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance

- Manage payroll inputs including but not limited to timekeeping, PTO, bonuses, deductions, and garnishments

- Reconcile payroll reports, resolve discrepancies, and respond to payroll-related inquiries

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws

- Support year-end payroll activities including audits and W-2 processing

Human Resources

- Develop, document, and maintain HR policies and procedures

- Administer employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee records, and HRIS maintenance

- Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, payroll, and benefits

- Support employee relations matters, performance management processes, and corrective action documentation

- Ensure HR practices remain compliant with employment laws and company standards

Benefits Administration

- Administer employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and leave programs

- Manage benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations in coordination with payroll

- Reconcile monthly benefit invoices and payroll benefit deductions

- Support open enrollment planning, communications, and vendor coordination

- Respond to employee benefits questions and resolve issues with providers

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)

- 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience with direct ownership of payroll

- Proven experience processing semi-monthly payroll

- Working knowledge of benefits administration and employment regulations

- Experience creating and maintaining HR policies and procedures

- Strong attention to detail and discretion with confidential information

- Excellent and professional communication skills

Preferred

- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom a plus)

- Multi-state payroll experience

- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP)
