Role Purpose
The Business Analyst supports the effective translation of business needs into clear, actionable functional and non-functional requirements that enable successful information & technology delivery. Working closely with the IT business partner and delivery teams, the role engages early with business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop detailed functional and non-functional requirements for prioritised initiatives, ensuring solutions are aligned with business outcomes and operational needs.
Key Accountabilities
- Support the IT Business Partners and delivery teams in capturing and shaping demand from business units.
- Facilitate workshops and discovery sessions to gather requirements and business context.
- Translate business needs into user stories, use cases and requirements specifications.
- Document high-level business needs and pain points to help assess demand for prioritisation.
- Work with delivery teams to define detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
- Assist with solution validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and business readiness activities.
- Assist Business Architect with mapping of the as-is business processes.
- Ensure traceability between business needs, requirements, and delivered solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of business analysis practices and templates.
- Communicate complex requirements in a clear and accessible way, ensuring documentation is accurate and maintained.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Business or related discipline
- Business Analysis certifications desirable
- Experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, or similar roles within IT and complex environments
- Experience translating business needs into structured functional and non-functional requirements
- Experience with process mapping and modelling techniques
