The Role – Overview
Based at our headquarters in Dubai, an exciting and challenging Tax Manager opportunity exists within a dynamic finance team. Legatum’s finance team services both the corporate business of Legatum and a portfolio of private assets. This role supports a broad range of tax, compliance, reporting and finance activities.
The role will suit a driven tax professional with an ambition to excel at every task under their responsibility and who enjoys being an integral part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all direct and indirect tax compliance activities across the group, including UAE Corporate Tax, UAE VAT and coordination of any international tax and reporting obligations.
- Own tax systems, processes and internal control frameworks, ensuring compliance requirements are embedded across the business.
- Manage all tax filings, reconciliations, submissions and correspondence with relevant tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Maintain transfer pricing documentation, statutory records and tax compliance files, ensuring they remain accurate, up to date and audit ready.
- Oversee regulatory compliance requirements, including Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) obligations and e-invoicing readiness where applicable.
- Develop and maintain a tax and compliance calendar, ensuring all deadlines, filings, registrations and supporting documentation are completed on time.
- Identify tax and compliance risks, implement mitigating controls and support internal and external audits, assessments and reviews.
- Monitor changes in UAE, GCC and international tax legislation, assess business impact and provide practical guidance to management and stakeholders.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, Investment Operations and external advisors to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Support the implementation and optimisation of ERP and finance systems to strengthen tax reporting, compliance and controls.
- Ad hoc reporting and support for the finance team, key stakeholders, management and other departments.
- Provide broader finance support across the group as required, including contributing to the financial management and oversight of certain entities on an ad hoc or ongoing basis.

Language Requirement
- Native or equivalent English speaker; no other language is required.
Experience Requirement
- Five to eight years’ experience in tax, compliance and regulatory reporting.
- Strong technical knowledge of UAE Corporate Tax, UAE VAT and GCC tax regulations.
- Proven experience supporting tax audits, assessments, tax authority enquiries and regulatory correspondence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft packages, particularly Excel.
- Proficiency in financial systems, ideally SunSystems and Q&A.
- Experience gained within a Big Four accounting firm and/or leading tax advisory or consulting practice is strongly preferred.
- Experience working across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions would be advantageous.
- Professional accounting or tax qualification (ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent) preferred.
