About this role
We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Manager to lead the finance function for an established boutique hospitality group.
The Group operates a portfolio of premium hospitality assets, encompassing boutique hotel and guesthouse accommodations along with multiple food and beverage outlets, including integrated and standalone restaurant operations.
Combining hands-on day-to-day financial oversight with high-level strategic planning, this in-person role will drive financial performance and growth across multiple revenue streams. Working closely with ownership and senior leadership, the successful candidate will take full ownership of the finance department across all business units.
Day-to-Day Management
- Oversee all financial operations across the hotel, guesthouse, and restaurant
- Manage monthly management accounts, reconciliations, and financial reporting for each business unit
- Oversee payroll, creditors, debtors, and cash flow management
- Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and audit requirements
- Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team
- Liaise with auditors, banks, and other external stakeholders
- Monitor stock control, cost of sales, and F&B margins
- Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls across the Group
Strategic
- Man Partner with ownership/senior management on budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support commercial decision-making
- Identify cost efficiencies and revenue-enhancing opportunities across the Group
- Support capital expenditure planning and investment appraisal
- Develop and implement financial policies, systems, and controls
- Prepare board-level reporting and business performance analysis
- Contribute to overall business strategy as a key member of the leadership team
Requirements
- CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification - essential
- 5–15 years' experience in a Group Financial Manager role
- Experience within hospitality finance - strongly advantageous
- Proven ability to operate at both an operational and strategic level
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing a finance team
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with ownership/senior management
- High attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced MS Excel skills
- Xero Certification - advantageous
- PMS/POS - Semper experience- advantageous
