Convergentz, a division of Hunton Group, has a new and exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Security & Low Voltage (SLV) Install Technician Level 1-3 . The selected candidate will be responsible for installation of structured cabling, security solutions, and other low voltage solutions for new construction projects and existing customer locations. Responsibilities
- Responsible for installing and servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Uses a variety of hand tools and laptop computers, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to install, diagnose, repair, and program HVAC equipment.
- Prepares for on-site installation and repairs by examining building layout, anticipating difficulties, gathering materials and coordinating on-site work, as necessary.
- Maintains equipment by inspecting for signs of wear (maladjustment, miscalibration, malfunction, and drift).
- Terminate network cables (Cat5, Cat 6/a, fiber, etc.)
- Setup and terminate network racks, trays, and all associated equipment in rack.
- Documents work by completing paperwork on each job and maintaining files.
- Creation of checklists/punch lists throughout construction project process.
- Represents company by serving as a direct customer contact.
- Supports SLV Technicians by providing field support.
- Utilizes project plans to prioritize and schedule work.
- Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need.
- Work as part of a team or team lead.

- Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Must pass background and drug screen tests.
- Able to travel locally and remotely as required.
- Able to work after-hours or on shifts.
- Climb ladders.
- Carry items up to 75 pounds.
Education and/or Experience Required
- High school diploma or equivalent, trade schools or certificates.
- 0-2+ years installing SLV solutions and/or electrical systems preferred.
- Electronics training from a Technical School or Military preferred.
- Recognized industry certification from IT programs, BICSI, Security, AV, or any other recognized program preferred.
