Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for an electrical engineer.

Responsibilities include:

- The design of electrical systems for public or water/wastewater facility projects

- Preparing plans and specifications of electrical systems for bidding and construction

- Technical support on large and/or complex projects

- Providing construction administration and site visits

- Mentoring staff; coordinating work and communication between subcontractors, teaming partners and suppliers

- Client management

Some travel will be required.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in electrical from an ABET accredited college or university

- At least six (6) years of relevant electrical engineering experience

- A PE in any state with the ability to obtain in additional states within six (6) months of hire

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

- Experience with designing electrical systems for public and water/wastewater facilities (water/wastewater collection, pumping/treatment and discharge)

- Designing electrical systems using power analysis software (EasyPower, SKM Power Tools, or similar) and lighting calculation software (Visual Lighting, AGI32, or ElumTools)

- Codes, statutes, standards and laws related to building design and construction

- Experience with arc flash hazards

- Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFD) and pumps

- Understanding of medium voltage distribution systems

- Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD

- Experience mentoring less experienced engineers

- Experience with power system studies, system planning and operations, and equipment specifications

- Knowledge of/experience the coordination with other engineering fields
