Job Summary: The Registered Behavior Therapist (RBT) provides behavior support and instruction to special education students on or off campus. The position supports students and families through behavior assessment and intervention, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, adaptive life skills instruction, and implementation and documentation of goals and progress related to behavior plans and/or IEPs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The position includes but is not limited to the following list of representative duties:

- Provide behavior support and instruction to assigned students according to their IEP, BIP, and instructions provided by the assigned BCBA.

- Assist with the development and implementation of behavior plans, treatment plans, and assessment tools designed to teach appropriate behaviors and reduce maladaptive behaviors.

- Observe, engage, play, instruct, and collect accurate data during sessions as directed by the BCBA.

- Record detailed session notes following each session in Brolly and other required systems and communicate relevant information to the BCBA.

- Assist students in developing essential social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive life skills.

- Assist families in understanding and implementing strategies that promote positive change for assigned students.

- Analyze data regularly to guide instruction and monitor student progress.

- Communicate clearly and promptly with BCBA, staff, teachers, and families.

- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional work environment at school, in the community, or in a student's home.

- Attend scheduled staff meetings, departmental meetings, professional development, and other required meetings.

- Maintain a professional appearance and conduct.

- Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

- Typical schedule: M, T, W, F: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Th: 8:00 am - 3:00 pm (hours may vary based on campus)

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Energetic, enthusiastic, creative, and committed to student success

- Ability to accept constructive feedback and make necessary adjustments

- Able to work well in a teamwork environment

- Experience working with students with behavior disorders required

- Childcare experience required

- Current registration as a Behavior Technician with the BACB required

- Successful completion of an RBT internship and/or formal training working with clients, parents, and/or other agencies

- Knowledge of behavior management and instructional skills

- Ability to work effectively with individuals of varying ages, abilities, and functionality

- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students and families

- Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills

- Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds

- Knowledge of Google, Word, and Excel

- Ability to respond promptly to phone calls, text messages, and emails

- Ability to use a copier, scanner, phone system, and other office equipment as needed

- Must have reliable transportation

- Ability to remain calm, attentive, and responsive in challenging or fast-paced situations

- Ability to frequently move between sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, and other positions as required to support student safety and instruction

- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds and assist students with physical difficulties

- Ability to run short distances when necessary to maintain student safety or participate in activities

- Ability to sustain prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer work

Education and Experience:

- Current registration as a Behavior Technician with the BACB required

- Experience with students with behavior disorders required

- Childcare experience required

- Successful completion of an RBT internship and/or formal training preferred
