๐—๐—ผ๐—ฏ ๐—ฆ๐˜‚๐—บ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜†: The Elementary Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing instruction for an assigned class of students while supporting the mission and educational standards of American Preparatory Academy. The teacher creates a positive learning environment, monitors student progress, uses assessment data to guide instruction, and collaborates with students, families, and school staff to support student success.

The position includes but is not limited to the following list of representative duties:

- Deliver the American Preparatory Academy curriculum equitably and in accordance with school standards, policies, and the Staff Manual.

- Follow and maintain the 180-day instructional plan for the assigned grade level or subject area, making updates based on student data and instructional needs.

- Plan and deliver engaging instruction using appropriate instructional methods, including Direct Instruction where required or recommended.

- Implement CHAMPs and other school-approved instructional and classroom management practices.

- Demonstrate an understanding of the Trivium and provide instruction appropriate to students' phase of learning.

- Assess student achievement, analyze data, and adjust instruction to support continuous student progress and prepare students for required assessments.

- Maintain a stimulating, nurturing, and well-managed classroom environment that supports individual student needs, including high-ability and high-performance learners.

- Collaborate with team members to support curriculum development, instruction, student needs, and the mission of American Preparatory Academy.

- Communicate professionally with students, families, faculty, staff, and administration regarding student progress, concerns, and needs.

- Maintain required student records, data, reports, and other documentation in a timely manner.

- Conduct parent/student/teacher conferences and work effectively with parent volunteers.

- Participate in team meetings, professional development, conferences, observations, in-service training, and other school activities.

- Monitor students in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, school grounds, and educational trips as assigned.

- Serve as a positive role model and resource for students and staff while supporting school needs beyond the classroom.

- Enforce safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.

- Other duties as assigned.

Typical schedule is M, T, F: 7:45 am - 4:15 pm MST, W, Th: 7:45 am - 4:30 pm MST (hours may vary based on campus).

Qualifications

- Energetic, enthusiastic and committed to student success

- Ability to accept constructive criticism and make necessary adjustments

- Able to work well in a teamwork environment, including participation in a coaching model for teaching

- Strong understanding of elementary education pedagogy and instructional best practices

- Ability to deliver engaging instruction and use assessment data to support student progress

- Strong classroom management, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to develop positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues

- Demonstrates empathy and understanding of students and their individual learning needs

- Demonstrates creativity, initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence

- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or related educational technology

- Utah Elementary teaching license, ARL, APT, or Bachelor's Degree required.

- Prior elementary teaching experience is highly preferred.

- Ongoing participation in required professional development, training, and in-service activities.
