About this role

JOB SUMMARY:
Vocal music director for a Clemson Players musical production. Auditions to take place in October 2026, with the show running during the Spring semester 2027. This is a short-term position (October 2026 - February 2027) focusing on vocal direction of the musical, Urinetown. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:
90% - Under the supervision of the Director, Becky Becker, direct vocal talent for the musical from rehearsals through production run in conjunction with the director of instrumental music, Kim Souther.

10% - Aid in the casting of vocal talent through the audition process scheduled for early October, 2026

Minimum Education

Master of Music Degree

Minimum Work Experience

University teaching experience and a minimum of 5 years serving as a vocal music director for musical productions.

Comprehensive knowledge of theories, concepts and practices and ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Not responsible for supervising employees.

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES
No fiscal responsibility for the department's budget.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

Expected Salary Range
6000 - 6000
Salary is dependent upon several factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's previous experience, knowledge, skills and performance in accordance with Clemson's compensation guidelines.

ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL:
Normal Operations - Required to follow emergency facility closure and modified operations directives, and not normally expected to work on-site during emergency situations.
