About this role

What You'll Do

- Perform investigations related to the building envelope and prepare reports documenting observations, findings, and repair recommendations.

- Perform or review condition appraisals, develop repair schemes and recommendations, and prepare opinions of probable construction costs.

- Produce building envelope construction documents and support projects through construction.

- Perform construction administration services, including RFI and submittal reviews, site visits, field observations, and punch list inspections.

- Meet with architects, contractors, and clients to review investigations, designs, construction progress, and technical recommendations.

- Assist with peer and office reviews of projects and perform progress reviews during the production of reports and construction documents to help ensure quality.

- Participate in field investigations and testing, including handling hoses, testing equipment, and other field materials.

- Monitor project budgets and schedules and take appropriate action to address discrepancies.

- Support client relationships and business development efforts, including preparation of RFQ/RFP responses.

- Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Additional Requirements:

- 4+ years of building envelope and waterproofing experience.

- Knowledge of exterior systems and materials (facades, roofing, waterproofing, windows, etc.).

- Experience with both new construction and the evaluation of existing structures.

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including hoses, testing equipment, and other materials used during field investigations and testing.

- Ability to supervise professional and support staff, including outside consultants assigned to the project.

- Ability to manage client relationships and maintain communication with the client after the project is finished for securing possible future work.

- A collaborative, client-focused mindset and interest in business development.

- Ability to compile strong RFQ/RFP responses.

- Willingness to travel as needed.
