Assignment Description

Responsible for managing and coordinating piping discipline activities within the assigned part-project while delivering high-quality piping design and 3D modelling. The role involves designing and modelling piping systems, developing area layouts, estimating piping activities, supporting offshore surveys, communicating with the client, and coordinating interfaces with other engineering disciplines.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate piping discipline tasks internally within the part-project
• Design and develop piping systems and layouts
• Perform 3D modelling of piping systems and equipment areas
• Develop pipe routing through existing areas, particularly for modification projects
• Identify and model tie-in positions to achieve clash-free designs
• Estimate piping activities
• Participate in offshore/site surveys as required by projects
• Coordinate piping design with other disciplines
• Communicate and coordinate with the client
• Handle interfaces towards other disciplines efficiently
• Produce and maintain relevant piping design documentation
• Work independently through different project phases, from study through execution
• Ensure piping design deliverables meet project requirements, standards and quality expectations
• Apply relevant industry regulations and standards, including NORSOK and ASME
• Support and coordinate piping activities within multidisciplinary project teams
• Coordinate with and support other engineers within the piping discipline

Requirements

• Relevant technical education; BSc is preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience; more experienced candidates are also welcome
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience from piping design within offshore, oil & gas, energy or industrial projects
• Experience from offshore modification/brownfield projects is preferred
• Proven experience with pipe routing through existing areas
• Experience identifying tie-in positions and developing clash-free piping designs
• Experience participating in site/offshore surveys
• Strong knowledge of PDMS / E3D and piping design
• Experience with E3D 3D modelling
• Experience with TIME
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, including NORSOK and ASME
• Ability to work independently through study and execution phases
• Good multidisciplinary coordination and communication skills
• Experience estimating piping activities is relevant
• Ability to coordinate piping discipline activities and work with other engineers
• Interest in and competency in managing other engineers is an advantage
• Previous experience from ConocoPhillips (COP) projects is desirable

Experience Level

• The role can be suitable for both experienced and junior personnel
• Candidates with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience may be considered
• Experience from offshore and brownfield modification projects is highly relevant
• Strong hands-on experience with PDMS/E3D piping design and 3D modelling is important
• Experience with pipe routing, tie-ins and site surveys is particularly valuable
• Experience with piping & layout using E3D is important
• Previous experience from COP projects is desirable
• Experience with estimating and coordinating piping activities is relevant
• Candidates should be able to work independently while coordinating effectively with other disciplines and engineers
• Familiarity with TCD is specifically mentioned as an evaluation criterion for the 4011983 role.
