About this role

Job Summary

The PM Maintenance Technician ensures production and quality by maintaining and repairing a wide range of machinery, equipment, and systems in a bakery environment. This role requires a mechanically inclined professional with preferred electrical troubleshooting skills who can maintain operational efficiency and minimize downtime. You will work as part of a larger maintenance team and be responsible for both preventative and corrective maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.

Schedule: PM shift (Weekends, Holidays, OT may be required)

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure operation of machinery and equipment by completing preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns, focusing on both mechanical and electrical components.

- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including motors, control panels, wiring, sensors, switches, and production line power supplies.

- Use appropriate test equipment such as multimeters, clamp meters, and megohmmeters to diagnose and isolate electrical faults.

- Interpret and follow electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.

- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical equipment including panels, lighting, and production machinery.

- Maintain, adjust, and repair mechanical systems such as pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, pumps, and motors.

- Follow safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and adhere to electrical codes and OSHA standards.

- Document maintenance actions, irregularities, and maintain logs to ensure continuity across shifts.

- Maintain parts inventory, anticipate equipment and supply needs, and expedite orders as needed.

- Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient working environment by complying with internal procedures and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

- High School diploma or GED equivalent.

- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Technician.

- Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience in a bakery or industrial setting.

- Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.

- Working knowledge of electrical safety standards and basic NEC codes.

- Familiarity with PLC systems is a plus.

- Basic understanding of boiler systems.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

- Ability to work in confined spaces and on ladders or elevated platforms.
