Platform Support Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

The Platforms Support Analyst is to act as the first line point of contact for all IT related platform issues. They will test applications, both software and hardware to make sure they are reliable, fully functional, and user-friendly before they are released to end users. This individual is expected to act on own initiative to devise test plans, provide first live support, escalate critical issues, and generally look for flaws and weaknesses in systems and make suggestions or develop solutions for how to make a system work better. This position is considered an essential position. This means that during times of inclement weather, emergencies, or when access to the workplace may be impeded, that employees in this position may be expected to report to work to support business continuance, unless otherwise instructed by his/her direct manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- BSC/BA in Computer Science or related discipline

- At least 2+ years’ experience working in technical operations environment

- Experience with monitoring and supporting digital platforms

- Working knowledge of Help Desk Systems such as ServiceNow, Manage Engine

- Strong Experience in MS Word, Excel or similar computer software systems.

- Experience as a QA Tester or similar role is a plus

- Understand and be able to work with monitoring systems and related technologies

- Knowledge of managing, deploying, and supporting releases

- Strong analytical and technical background with good problem-solving skills

- Good understanding of SDLC and familiarity with agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus

- Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload to complete tasks in a timely manner

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and friendly disposition

- Able to communicate technical matters to technical and non-technical audiences

KEY COMPETENCIES

- Knowledge of developments and new applications of information technology, emerging technologies and their applications to business processes, and applications and implementation of information systems to meet organizational requirements.

- Excellent critical thinking, logic, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify problems, determine the accuracy and relevance of information, use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations.

- Experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability issues.

- Ability to document and troubleshoot errors with high attention to detail.

- Good analytical and management reporting skills for diagnosing issues and formulating solutions.

- Ability to analyze the design of technical systems and business models.

- Understanding strategic business needs and plans for growth.

- Ability to source and implement technological solutions to satisfy business requirements and enhance the quality of IT products and services.

- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Island-wide and overseas travel required from time to time;

- Frequently required to work beyond normal hours to achieve deadlines.
