The Retail Team Lead for Joie Childrens Products, Inc. plays a key role in creating an exceptional customer experience while supporting the day-to-day operations and performance of the retail store. This role leads by example, motivates and supports the retail team, and helps ensure customers receive knowledgeable, personalized service that reflects the Joie brand.

The Retail Team Lead will build strong relationships with customers, provide product education and recommendations, and support the team in achieving sales and customer service goals. In partnership with store leadership, this role will help maintain a welcoming, organized, and visually compelling retail environment while ensuring operational standards are consistently met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Customer Experience

- Lead by example by consistently demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, accountability, and exceptional customer service.

- Support and coach Sales Associates in delivering a welcoming, personalized customer experience.

- Help create a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment focused on customer satisfaction and store success.

- Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure the store is prepared for customers each day.

- Greet customers, build rapport, understand their needs, and provide thoughtful product recommendations based on their lifestyle and family needs.

- Support team members in educating customers on Joie products, features, benefits, promotions, and pricing.

- Address customer questions or concerns professionally and escalate issues to store leadership when appropriate.

- Identify opportunities to increase sales through thoughtful cross-selling and up-selling.

- Support the team in achieving sales, service, and operational goals.

- Help ensure customers have a seamless and positive experience from entry through checkout.

Store Operations

- Support daily store operations and ensure company procedures and standards are consistently followed.

- Assist with opening and closing the store, including cash handling and point-of-sale procedures.

- Help maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming retail environment.

- Ensure merchandise is properly organized, stocked, and presented according to brand standards.

- Support inventory management, including receiving, replenishment, stockroom organization, and inventory accuracy.

- Help maintain floor presentation standards and ensure displays are visually compelling and aligned with Joie brand standards.

- Ensure team members follow safety procedures and company policies.

- Assist with store readiness and daily operational tasks.

- Help monitor store supplies and communicate operational needs to store leadership.

- Utilize store technology and point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently.

Product Knowledge

- Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Joie products, including product features, benefits, pricing, promotions, and assortment.

- Provide confident and accurate product guidance to customers and support Sales Associates in developing their product knowledge.

- Stay informed about new products, product updates, company initiatives, and promotional campaigns.

- Demonstrate products when appropriate and help customers understand how products can meet their individual needs.

- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and curiosity within the retail team.

Sales & Performance

- Support store leadership in achieving sales and customer experience objectives.

- Help motivate the team to deliver strong sales performance while maintaining a customer-first approach.

- Monitor customer interactions and provide coaching and feedback when appropriate.

- Identify customer needs and sales opportunities while ensuring recommendations provide genuine value.

- Support promotional initiatives, product launches, and company-led retail campaigns.

- Communicate relevant customer feedback, product trends, and store observations to leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience and Education

- One (1) to two (2) years of retail, customer service, sales, or related experience.

- Previous retail leadership, key holder, shift lead, or supervisory experience preferred.

- High school diploma or GED required.

- Ability to safely lift and carry items weighing up to thirty (30) pounds.

Other

- Must be eighteen (18) years or older.

- Must be available for scheduled training sessions.

- Ability to work flexible shifts, stand for extended periods, and lift items weighing up to thirty (30) pounds as needed for store operations.

- Must be available to work weekends and holidays based on business needs.

- Minimum part-time availability includes:

Three (3) weekdays from Monday through Thursday with full-day availability.

- Two (2) weekend days from Friday through Sunday with full-day availability.

- Full availability means being available one hour before store opening and one hour after store closing.

- Store operating hours:

Monday through Thursday: 10:00 am through 7:00 pm

- Friday and Saturday: 10:00 am through 8:00 pm

- Sunday: 11:00 am through 7:00 pm

- Mandatory availability is required during peak holiday periods, including Black Friday and Black Friday weekend, as well as December 14th through December 31st. Time-off requests will not be permitted during these blackout dates.

- Employees in non-exempt positions must accurately complete, obtain manager approval for, and timely submit their timecard in accordance with the Companys bi-weekly payroll schedule.
