We are looking for a Property Tax Protest Analyst to join our dynamic, year-round Property Tax Department. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that plays a crucial role in managing, analyzing, and appealing property tax assessments across Texas and beyond for both SWE and its customers.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborating with a team of associates to review property tax assessments and identify appeal opportunities

- Preparing and submitting property tax appeals based on research, analysis, and strategy

- Managing communications and notices from a variety of taxing authorities

- Track protest deadlines, hearing dates, settlements, final values, and estimated tax savings.

- Staying up to date on property tax laws and policy changes across jurisdictions

- Handling online notices of property assessments and values

- Negotiating value settlements with county appraisers and out-of-state assessors

- Creating and maintaining files for newly acquired properties

- Conducting cost-benefit analyses to assess the impact of assessed values

- Verifying ownership and occupancy status with local appraisal districts (e.g., HCAD)

- Acting as a key liaison between our team and county/taxing officials

- Organizing support files and documentation, and leading special projects as assigned

- Represent the company in property tax protest hearings, as assigned.

- Support the Property Tax Supervisor with portfolio analysis, reporting, and special projects.

- Assist in the processing of property tax bills when received

- Cross department collaboration with our loan servicing, legal, acquisition, and construction teams as well as various property inspectors.

- Perform other property tax-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- Must have 4 years’ experience of related work of property valuation.

- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Must be able to type 45wpm

- Experience with Chain of Title and Title Issues.

- Proactively upholds follow-up procedures.
