About this role

Overview: We are currently hiring 2 SSHO's. These positions will perform any of the following maintaining safety compliance, enforces and complies with all safety precautions required by job descriptions. Ensures work site employees are in compliance with safety guidelines and requirements. All hired Safety personnel will answer directly to Safety Director. Description:

- Inspect machinery, equipment, and working conditions in industrial and/or other settings to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
- Observe workers to determine the proper use of prescribed safety equipment, such as glasses, hard hats, secondary eye protection, respirators and clothing.
- Test working areas for noise, toxicity, and other hazards.
- Prepare finding reports with recommendations for corrective action.
- Investigate accidents to ascertain the cause and use the findings to recommend future preventive safety measures and to aid in developing a better safety program.
- May be required to attend site meetings and hold limited training.
- Ability to manage job site designated competent persons
- Perform confined space and machinery space inspections based on directions issued by the Safety Director.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Able to withstand environmental factors such as: Outside weather conditions
- High, precarious places
- Exposed to fumes and airborne particles
- Very loud noise levels

- Occasionally perform other physical activities as required, such as: Stooping
- Bending
- Squatting
- Climbing (including but not limited to, vertical and incline ladders, masts, and king posts)
- Crawling (including but not limited to, through scuttles, manhole covers, tanks, and voids)

Qualifications

- US Citizenship.
- 5 years of construction experience.
- Must be able to obtain OSHA 30 upon immediate hire
- Must be able to obtain EM 385-1 (40-hour course)
- Must be able to obtain OSHA 500 train the trainer within 12 months of employment.
- Able to read and comprehend: OSHA requirements
- EPA requirements as required
- DOT requirements as required

Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Suffolk, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $125000.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
