About the Role
The Warehouse Operator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day warehouse activities of BNL Sciences, ensuring the safe, accurate and efficient receipt, storage, movement, control and dispatch of materials.
The role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, product integrity and customer service standards while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP) where applicable, company procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
The Warehouse Operator works closely with Warehouse, Production, Quality and Customer Service teams to ensure materials are handled, stored and distributed accurately and efficiently in support of business operations and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Goods Receipt & Material Handling
- Receive incoming materials and verify deliveries against purchase orders and shipping documentation.
- Unload, inspect and transfer materials safely to designated storage locations.
- Check goods for damage, shortages or discrepancies and report issues appropriately.
- Ensure received materials are correctly identified, labelled and stored.
- Maintain accurate records relating to material receipts and inventory movements.
- Support quarantine, release and material segregation requirements where applicable.
Inventory Management & Stock Control
- Accurately pick, move and store materials in accordance with warehouse procedures.
- Support inventory accuracy through adherence to stock control processes.
- Participate in cycle counts and stock take activities.
- Assist with stock reconciliation and investigation of inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain full traceability of materials and products.
- Ensure stock is rotated appropriately and stored in accordance with company procedures.
Order Fulfilment & Dispatch
- Pick and prepare orders accurately and efficiently.
- Package materials for internal transfer, customer shipment or distribution.
- Prepare goods for dispatch in accordance with customer and company requirements.
- Complete shipping documentation and records accurately.
- Load vehicles safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Support timely and accurate order fulfilment to meet customer expectations.
Warehouse Operations
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with training and authorisation.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Support efficient warehouse workflows and storage practices.
- Assist with repalletising goods and reorganising storage locations where required.
- Conduct routine warehouse inspections and report maintenance requirements.
- Support warehouse operational activities as directed by management.
Quality & Compliance
- Comply with GMP, GDP (where applicable), company procedures and quality requirements.
- Complete warehouse documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory traceability and product integrity.
- Report deviations, discrepancies and quality concerns promptly.
- Support audit readiness and warehouse compliance activities.
- Participate in investigations and corrective actions where required.
Skills
- Basic computer literacy and ability to complete warehouse documentation accurately.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage physical aspects of warehouse operations safely.
- Flexible approach to work and changing business requirements.
Job Requirements
- Previous warehouse, logistics or materials handling experience desirable.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, life sciences or regulated environments preferred.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control principles.
- Experience using warehouse systems, ERP systems or inventory management tools desirable.
- Forklift licence or material handling equipment experience desirable.
