Position Summary
The Field Supervisor – Framing is responsible for directing labor, coordinating, and supervising all framing-related activities on assigned job sites. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring work is completed according to project scope and schedule, and maintaining consistent communication with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams. The Field Supervisor monitors job site readiness, conducts regular inspections, manages materials and subcontracted labor, documents job progress and conditions, and addresses any issues, including change orders. Additionally, this position requires maintaining professional conduct, ensuring safety and cleanliness standards, and actively contributing to the successful and timely completion of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the Scope of work and all corresponding documents
- Inspect the job site for readiness
- Subcontract all framing labor via Suburban’s purchase order system
- Document all job site conditions, milestone dates, and potential problems
- Daily inspection of all assigned work
- Recognition, and follow through with any necessary change orders
- Transport materials as needed
- Compliance with Suburban’s P.O. system for ordering/returning materials
- Material management
- Communication with general contractors, subcontractors, suburban personnel, and vendors
- Dress and act in a professional manner
- Maintain a clean company vehicle, tools, and request necessary service promptly
- Works directly with suburban project manager/estimator
- Maintain and surpass job schedules
- Attend job meetings as directed
- Operate all tools used in framing and miscellaneous. carpentry duties
- Work directly with supervisors as well as other suburban divisions/locations
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of framing materials, tools, and systems
- Effective time management and basic math skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to safely use common hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various weather conditions
