About this role
As a Software Validation Engineer, you will build and execute automated tests for native features on the Ford mobile app, with an initial focus on native commerce (in-app accessories storefront and in-app subscriptions). You will work closely with a Lead Software Validation Engineer, who will mentor and coach you as you grow your skills in mobile test automation, and contribute to a small, collaborative QA team supporting Android and iOS.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in software quality assurance/testing, with exposure to mobile application testing (Android and/or iOS).
- Working knowledge of test automation using XCTest/XCUIAutomation (iOS) and/or Jetpack Compose Test API and Espresso (Android), or strong ability to ramp up quickly with mentorship.
- Basic understanding of e-commerce, in-app purchase, or subscription-based feature flows.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Exposure to defect/test management tools such as JIRA.
- Strong attention to detail and clear written communication for test documentation and defect reporting.
- Advanced English skills.

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Exposure to payment processing testing (e.g., Stripe or similar).
- Basic familiarity with web test automation (e.g., Playwright).
- Exposure to ISTQB testing principles.
